On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on the social media platform Truth Social depicting a future Gaza Strip transformed into a luxury resort destination, complete with golden statues of himself, Elon Musk, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lounging on a beach. The video, which presents an exaggerated and cartoonish vision of Gaza’s future, has drawn well-deserved criticism for trivializing the immense suffering and complexity of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The path to Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace must begin with a process that upholds the dignity of all people affected by the conflict. President Trump’s AI-generated video makes a mockery of this deeply painful reality, reducing a longstanding and tragic situation to a spectacle. Such an approach not only disrespects those who have endured unimaginable loss but also undermines serious discourse on pathways to a just and lasting resolution.
We remain committed to advocating for policies that support a secure and peaceful future for Israelis and Palestinians alike. The United States must play a constructive role in fostering a resolution that prioritizes dignity, security, and justice, rather than spectacle.
